Washington, DC, July 26, 2007 — In testimony today before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Federal Workforce, Postal Service and the District of Columbia, the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) voiced its potential concerns over the United States Postal Service’s (USPS) infrastructure and realignment efforts required under the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (PAEA).

(DMA) to offer support for the Truth in Caller ID Act (S. 704).
DMA Disappointed By Postage Rate Decision.
DMA comments on the failure of the Governors of the US Postal Service
(USPS) to provide relief for millions of commercial mailers who are
being hit with massive, unplanned increases in postage costs. DMA warned
that the Governors’ ultimate rejection of any rate reduction for
flat-shaped mail will have a severe impact on the mailing community.

To date in 2007, legislation has been introduced in 15 states that would create do not mail registries.
